Muslim Brotherhood on Human Rights Watch's Report on Torture in Coup Prisons
Muslim Brotherhood on Human Rights Watch's Report on Torture in Coup Prisons

Human Rights Watch's latest report on torture in Egypt under the coup regime is clear and compelling, documenting brutal military coup crimes in Egyptian prisons, which it described as crimes against humanity.

Now, is there even one solitary reason why the United Nations, its human rights and judicial organizations, the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights, the White House, the European Union and the rest of the world are not taking urgent action to try the leaders of this coup for their daily and systematic crimes before the International Criminal Court and before the courts in those countries?

Is there a single justification for supporting this criminal regime instead of besieging, ostracizing and ousting it?

Silence on murderers and criminals is tantamount to complicity in their crimes, as well as a betrayal of the principles of human rights. Failing to apply just international law to these people clearly means that they are allowed to commit more of these crimes, to violate the values of justice. It, moreover, is a devastating blow to the credibility of those international institutions and great Powers.

We solemnly salute the proud people of Egypt and those who stand steadfast behind bars, who face all these crimes with determination and resolve to restore Egypt's freedom and dignity.
